Carpe Minutem

            Consider the following: You're in heated argument with a fellow colleague about some topic that has clearly irritated both of you. You and your belligerents angry and loud comments have appeared to attract a crowd. Just at the very pinnacle, your belligerent makes a comment that seems to have left a door wide open for a comeback of ages. You jump through that door of vulnerability at that very moment and make the most "savage"(as modern teens would call it) remark that sets the crowd ablaze. Everyone is laughing, howling, and screaming your praise. This is one of the most sought out scenarios for any common human with any bit of an argumentative side. However, little would many people know that this same scenario falls under the same general term as an exhilarating piece of a nationalistic propaganda during a time of political turmoil or a loud, passionate speech meant to galvanize the population of a group of people feeling attacked or endange...

Civic Artifact Selection For my civic artifact speech I decided to tackle the topic of free speech in this coun try and more specifically within a school setting. This topic is best exemplified by one of the most influential and permanent fixtures on campus; the Willard Preacher . He is heard on a daily basis pacing back and forth in front of the Willard Building preaching the word of the lord in a radical manner. On numerous accounts, he is heard using profane, derogatory terminologies within his daylong sermons. However, this leaves the question of is it right to be preaching such blasphemous material within a school setting?

Throughout my life, I've always had a plethora of interests, but as I've progressed, I've noticed that some of my interests have narrowed down, some have broadened, some have appeared, and many have disappeared. One of the two potential topic has been a topic of massive interest to me for several years that more so formed out of a merger between several different interests. The other is a relatively brand new interest that has taken a large piece of not only my life, but my heart as well. Only for Luxury: The grandiose lifestyle of the so called bourgeoisie has always been a lifestyle I've adored and aspired to attain. From the luxury houses to the fancy accessories, the lifestyle of the rich is one only a small group of people can ever achieve, but has been one greatly documented throughout the history of riches.
